The Floral Show Dome closes for about two weeks between shows to prepare for the next display. The Tropical and Arid Domes remain open during this period.

The Making of a Train Show

Planning
After the show is designed by a landscape architect,
staff discuss locations of show features
 
Cranes and other heavy equipment
are used to move earth and erect structures
 

Not all landscaping can be accomplished with heavy equipment
 

New pathways must be tamped

 

Water features are placed 

 

Hundreds of feet of track are laid throughout the show

 

A platform is put into position on the overlook

 

Plants are unloaded for installation

 

With props and plants arranged,
the show is now ready for public viewing
