Compete Milwaukee Transitional Job Program 

Compete Milwaukee

In 2015, the City of Milwaukee will partner with the Milwaukee Area Workforce Investment Board (MAWIB) and UMOS (United Migrant Opportunity Services) to fund 135 transitional job placements in city departments.

Transitional jobs provide opportunities for long-term unemployed men and women to get immediate work to support themselves and their families while seeking unsubsidized work.

STRONG Homes Loan Program

Partially Forgivable Loans for Emergency & Essential Home Repairs

The STRONG Homes Loan Program offers partially forgivable loans to homeowners throughout the City of Milwaukee. Loans can be used to make emergency and essential home repairs and address building code orders. Loans are repayable, with a deferred payment option available for homeowners who are low income and elderly or disabled.

 

Winter In Milwaukee

Department of Public Works (DPW) encourages City residents to follow winter parking regulations through March 1, to assist in the efficient and effective removal of snow and to protect the safety and welfare of all City residents during this winter season.

With a few clicks, residents can report, photograph and provide documentation to ensure that neighborhood issues can be resolved quickly. Timely reports allow the proper city authorities to promptly address issues including abandoned vehicles, missed collections, graffiti and potholes.
