Mayor Barrett to Launch Community Partnership in an Effort to Reduce and Stop Violence in Milwaukee


The City of Milwaukee's homicide rate has gone down.  In 2004, there were 88 homicides compared with 107 in 2003, but more work needs to be done.  Mayor Barrett has visited several churches, high schools and homes talking to adults and teens about the homicide rate and what can be done to reduce and end violence.  On Sunday, January 30, 2005, Mayor Barrett will hold a press conference to unveil details of his "Community Partnership".

                    10:30 a.m.
      

Following press conference, Mayor Barrett will speak at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church at Noon.  Media is allowed.  Mayor Barrett will also speak at a youth mass at St. Anthony's Church, 1711 S. 9th Street, at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, January 30th.
