Milwaukee County Senior Statesman Program
Every summer, Milwaukee County hosts a Senior Statesman Program at the Courthouse. The event provides a unique opportunity for seniors to witness County government in action, meet with members of the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors, witness a County Board meeting and learn more about the legislative process in Milwaukee County.
The participants tour Milwaukee County facilities, meet department heads and learn how to advocate on behalf of Senior Citizens in Milwaukee County. The event is a partnership between Marquette University, the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors, Milwaukee County Executive's Office and the Milwaukee County Department of Agining.
The even culminates with a graduation Ceremony featuring the County Executive and Supervisors, along with a reunion of previous Senior Statesman participants at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts. Each Senior Statesman is presented with a Certificate of Participation.
