Oak Leaf Trail

Oak Leaf Recreational Trail

Storm sewer contruction will affect Sheridan Park through late August. Sheridan Drive will be barricaded from Layton Ave. south to Munkwitz Ave. Patrons visiting the area south of Layton Ave are asked to use the parking lot on Munkwitz Ave. The Oak Leaf Trail will detour to the east on a crushed gravel path.

Escape to the Oak Leaf Trail, a treasure of the Milwaukee County Park System. You'll be drawn to the pastoral beauty of remote trail segments, and joining you will be bikers, skaters, runners, and walkers leaving the bustle of everyday life behind.

The trail features over 100 miles of multiple loops through all the major parkways and parks in the system. Loops are composed of off-road paved trails, park drives, and municipal streets where necessary to ensure continuity.

To better orient you in relation to major city streets, the Parks Department has begun a multi-phase project of marking the trail. The first phase marked the trail along Lincoln Memorial Drive from Ogden Avenue to Locust Street. Additional segments will be marked as funds become available. Street signs also mark the trail for your convenience.

When using the trail, please follow the basic rules of
etiquette and safety.

Mountain biking is only allowed on the new "Alpha Trail."
