Motorized Scooters

Not many people know that motorized scooters cannot be legally operated on any public way -- including roads, sidewalks and alleys -- in the City of Milwaukee. On February 1, 2005, the Common Council passed an ordinance requiring anyone selling a motorized scooter in the City to obtain a signed statement from the buyer indicating that the buyer is aware of the strict limitations on where these scooters can be operated. The seller is obligated to keep this statement on file for one year from the date of purchase.
