MPS Partners with Mayor Barrett to Publicize City Services

Free electronic news system will promote school events and recreation programs

Milwaukee Public Schools has partnered with local government to publicize school events and recreation programs using the city's proprietary e-mail notification system, E-Notify. The free service, available at www.milwaukee.gov, allows users to sign up for over fifty different electronic newsletters. Subscribers may choose to receive information updates about a variety of city services, including the Milwaukee Public Library, City Hall, the Health Department, and City Channel 25. E-Notify subscribers now have the option to receive news from MPS and Milwaukee Recreation, which marks the first collaboration between Milwaukee Public Schools and Mayor Tom Barrett.

"Milwaukee has many great services and opportunities that need to be marketed," says Mayor Barrett. "E-Notify provides a cost-effective way to share news and information with thousands of Milwaukee residents. We are pleased to partner with MPS because it allows us to maximize city resources for everyone's benefit, which should always be the objective."
