Milwaukee Public Schools has partnered with local government to publicize school events and recreation programs using the city's proprietary e-mail notification system, E-Notify. The free service, available at www.milwaukee.gov, allows users to sign up for over fifty different electronic newsletters. Subscribers may choose to receive information updates about a variety of city services, including the Milwaukee Public Library, City Hall, the Health Department, and City Channel 25. E-Notify subscribers now have the option to receive news from MPS and Milwaukee Recreation, which marks the first collaboration between Milwaukee Public Schools and Mayor Tom Barrett. "Milwaukee has many great services and opportunities that need to be marketed," says Mayor Barrett. "E-Notify provides a cost-effective way to share news and information with thousands of Milwaukee residents. We are pleased to partner with MPS because it allows us to maximize city resources for everyone's benefit, which should always be the objective." "E-Notify has made it easier than ever to keep track of Milwaukee's school events and recreation programs," says Superintendent Andrekopoulos. "This revolutionary system will help MPS develop an even stronger connection with the Milwaukee community." "Milwaukee Public Schools is excited about the E-Notify system and any communication system which provides the opportunity to promote the great recreational events and educational services that the district offers to the community. This is a great opportunity for MPS," says School Board President Peter Blewett. To sign up for E-Notify, visit www.milwaukee.gov.
