Theodore Lipscomb was elected to the office of 1st District Supervisor in a very unique write-in election on April 1, 2008. The first district includes most of the City of Glendale and a significant portion of the north side of the City of Milwaukee. Supervisor Lipscomb serves as Vice-Chairman of the Economic and Community Development Committee and also serves on the Health and Human Needs and Parks, Energy and Environment Committees.
Supervisor Lipscomb is a graduate of Marquette University High School in Milwaukee and an honors graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. He has a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies and a Certificate in Urban Planning. His studies included time abroad at Oxford Brookes University in Oxford, England and Paris as well as independent study and research. He has continued his education with further graduate level studies in real estate finance and law as well as completing various professional certifications.
Supervisor Lipscomb brings his many years of experience on housing and economic development issues to the County Board. Outside of his County Board duties, he continues to work on a part time basis as a consultant, which helps to ensure that he is up-to-date on current events and trends in the community development field outside of Milwaukee.
Supervisor Lipscomb and his lovely wife, Nicole, are the proud parents of two girls. They are members of Morris Memorial C.O.G.I.C. and reside in Glendale. Both Supervisor Lipscomb and his wife are lifelong residents of Milwaukee County and have lived in the 1st District for more than 25 years.
