The City of Milwaukee is beginning work on a comprehensive housing strategy. For the past several months the Departments of Neighborhood Services, City Development, Administration and the Mayor's Office have been doing preliminary data analysis and planning. Those efforts have resulted in a draft strategy, which is focused on the activities and roles of city government in achieving the goal of creating diverse housing choices in the City. The preliminary draft of the housing strategy follows. The draft strategy is only one part of a comprehensive strategy. There are many other organizations and institutions that play important roles and will be included in the planning process. This fall a series of working sessions are being held with neighborhood, business and industry groups to get input on the strategy and insure it encompasses the many diverse needs of city stakeholders. We value your input and would like to hear from you. If you have any comments regarding this draft or other ideas you would like us to consider, please do not hesitate to send us your comments. Sincerely,
Rocky Marcoux Commissioner Department of City Development 809 N. Broadway 3rd Flr. Milwaukee, WI 53202 (414) 286-5903
