Eat less, more often. Instead of 3 meals a day, eat small amounts 6 to 7 times a day.
How often do I see a doctor?
- The first visit should be as early in the pregnancy as possible. As soon as you know you are pregnant, call and make an appointment with a doctor.
- Follow the schedule recommended by your doctor for future appointments and keep your appointments. Each pregnancy is different, so the number of visits may vary slightly, but a common expectation is that you will see your doctor:
- During the first 6 months: 1 time per month
- During months 7 & 8: 2 times per month
- During the 9th month: 1 time per week
Should I take any vitamins?
Yes! All pregnant women should take prenatal vitamins. This will help to keep you and your baby as healthy as possible.
Should I exercise?
Yes! Exercise makes us feel better and will keep you in better shape. This may help with labor and delivery and will help after delivery also. Consult with your doctor regarding what exercise would be best for you.
Can I continue to work?
Yes! Unless there are complications during the pregnancy, you can continue to work.
