MILWAUKEE COUNTY 2009 ACTION PLAN
Community Development Block Grant - Recovery (CDBG-R)

Milwaukee County will accept public comment until June 1, 2009 on a substantial amendment to its 2009 Action Plan as follows:
The County intends to apply for $465,341 in Community Development Block Grant - Recovery (CDBG-R) funds under the American Recovery and Re-investment Act of 2009. The county proposes to use all of these funds, less up to 10% to cover its administrative costs, to support development of a 52-unit supportive housing complex to be called "Veteran's Manor" at 35th & Wisconsin Avenue. Income eligible veterans will receive housing and support services through the Veteran's Administration and the Center for Veteran's Issues.

Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-housing
Milwaukee County will accept public comment until May 12, 2009 on a substantial amendment to its 2009 Action Plan to seek $712,555 in Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-housing (HPRP) funds under the American Recovery and Re-investment Act of 2009. HPRP funds will be used for rental assistance of housing for homeless or potentially homeless persons with mental illness and/or substance abuse issues, whose incomes do not exceed 50% of County median. HPRP housing will be available with services provided by Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) funds.
