Supervisor Thomas, left, is joined by Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, members of the Hartung Park Community Association, and other active citizens from Milwaukee and Wauwatosa in the groundbreaking for Hartung Park on May 18, 2008. The park is being built on the site of Hartung Quarry, two blocks north of W. Burleigh St., just east of Menomonee River Parkway. It will enhance recreational opportunities for Milwaukee County residents, including those who live nearby in District 18, represented by Supervisor Thomas.
