Bandshell Rentals


Plan your next performance under the bright lights of a bandshell, the perfect venue for musicals, plays, concerts or major school and church events. Backstage dressing rooms and restroom facilities are available for your performers. Bandshells are wired for your sound and lighting equipment. Loading docks at both facilities make your setup easier. Both bandshells offer a combination of fixed and flexible seating. You will be required to arrange for security, setup and use of the sound and lighting systems, stage hands, ushers, and portable toilet facilities.

If you are planning a performance or gathering on a smaller scale, the indoor auditoriums may be more suitable for your program.

Washington Park Bandshell, 1859 N. 40 St.
Availability: Spring-Fall
Capacity: 8,500
Accessibility: Both general and stage areas are handicap accessible
Parking: Ample parking in lots and adjacent streets

Humboldt Park Bandshell, 3000 S. Howell Ave.
Availability: Spring-Fall
Capacity: 5,000, lawn seating
Accessibility: General area is handicap accessible; stage area is not handicap accessible
Parking: Street parking available; additional parking available by special arrangement

2008 Rates: (subject to 5.6% sales tax)
Stage only $500 for 1–6 hours
Stage & Backstage with dressing rooms $750 for 1–6 hours

If you will be charging admission, selling refreshments or having any other type of sales at your event, you will need a sales concessions permit.
