Key Partnerships/ Organizations: Neighborhood residents, The Village of Shorewood, Shorewood Senior Resource Center,The School District of Shorewood, Shoreline Interfaith, churches and businesses.

 Activities as of May 2009

  • Installation of countdown timer lights for the intersection of Oakland & Edgewood (donated by Shorewood’s Men Club)
  • Designated two “Senior Parking” spaces at Pick ‘N Save (with Roundy's inc)
  • Mailed polling place information on handicapped-accessible entrance at Atwater School 
  • Promoted use of absentee ballots for frail older adults
  • Instituted "Shorewood Connects" program to provide a one time morning of yard work for older adults in need of assistance (eighty volunteers)
  • Recruited volunteers to help shovel snow
  • With Shorewood High School, offered free performing arts series for older adult residents
