Mayor Barrett today released the following statement regarding the passage of former Mayor Frank Zeidler:
"Frank Zeidler was a pivotal figure in Milwaukee who embodied honest and efficient government. A tireless advocate for social justice, Frank never relented in his struggle to give voice to those who had none. His inspiring leadership of Milwaukee's postwar urban renewal efforts paved the way for improvements that we continue to build on today.
My sympathies are with Agnes and their children and grandchildren who I know must take solace in the legacy of a man who lifted everyone around him with his compassion and integrity."
